Summer festival in Kyoto “WELCOME TO JIZO-BON”. Held on August 25th (Saturday).
"Jizo-bon" is a festival held in late summer in Kyoto.
It is a traditional event that has been continued from Muromachi era. Participants wish health and happiness for children.

The organizers say that they want every children all over the world to enjoy this event, and anyone can participate this event in this year.
Why do not you join with your children to "Jizo-bon" that represents the summer of Kyoto?

Event overview

Date: August 25th (Saturday) 10: 00 ~ 18: 00

Place: Tenshōji temple (523 Tenshōjimaechō, Nakagyō-ku, Kyōto-shi)

Access: About 5minutes on foot from subway Kyoto-shiyakusho-mae Station / About 5minutes on foot from Kawaramachi-sanjo bus stop

Main temple schedule

10:15~ Read books to children (for infants)
13:00~ Spiritual -growth time (hearing from a monk)
14:00~ Jyuzumawashi
15:00~ Bingo game (200 yen)
17:15~ Visiting a temple and meeting Maiko (800 yen) *Max:60 persons. Reservation will be required.


Grounds Schedule

All day – Make cotton candy by yourself (50 yen) / Drawing space / Soap bubble
10:30~ Water melon splitting
10:30~ Scooping the dolls (50 yen)
11:30~ Quoits (50 yen)
12:00~ Tolling the bell (only for children)
13:30~ Lottery (100 yen)
*This will end when prizes run out.


A stamp rally will be held to receive Jizo-bon limited privilege!
