Nanzenji

Nanzenji

The head temple of Rinza sect of Nanzenji school. In the Muromachi Period, it is listed in "five Yamanouei". Goto is a temple with the top five formations of Zen temple in Kyoto. Nanzenji was also located further than that.

It is a famous Nanzen-ji temple in Sanmen, which was set in the "spectacular scenery, superb view" of Ishikawa Goemon, and the Kabuki "mountain gate". You can go up to the top of the Sanmon 's tower, and the scenery in Kyoto City overlooking the top of the Sanmen' s tower is exceptionally spectacular.

Recently it is one of the best sightseeing spots in Kyoto such as popular waterway tower as the stage of drama and commercials and a garden representing the world of Zen.

The beautiful Ikeizumi Ryugaku garden is one of the three scenic ruins historical gardens in Kyoto.
