Hirano Shrine

It is a shrine that was enshrined in the court of the Heijyo Kyo, and it was transferred to the land at the same time as the relocation of national capital to the city of Heiankyo during 794 year. Since then, it has collected faith for more than 1200 years.
The current main hall is a unique type of building called "Hirano" consisting of four buildings, which are designated as an important cultural property of the country.

Hirano Shrine is also famous as a cherry blossom spot.
There are many rare varieties, with about 60 varieties and 400 cherry trees fill the precincts.

Trees that bloom early will start to bloom in the middle of March and those that bloom later will bloom at the end of April, so you can enjoy cherry blossoms for about a month.
The cherry blossoms at night are known for a long time, and during the cherry blossoms the light up is also done.
